Exploring the paths to big data analytics implementation success in banking and financial service: an integrated approach

Purpose Big data analytics (BDA) is recognized as a recent breakthrough technology with potential business impact, however, the roadmap for its successful implementation and path to exploiting essential value remains unclear. This study aims provide deeper understanding of enablers facilitating BDA in banking financial service sector from perspective interdependencies interrelations. Design/methodology/approach We use an integrated approach that incorporates Delphi study, interpretive structural modelling (ISM) fuzzy MICMAC methodology identify interactions among determine success implementation. Our utilizes experts' domain knowledge gains novel insight into underlying causal relations associated enablers, linguistic evaluation mutual impacts variables incorporating two innovative ways visualizing results. Findings findings highlight key role enabling factors, including technical skilled workforce, support, infrastructure readiness selecting appropriate big technologies, have significant driving on other hierarchical model. The results reliable, robust easy understand insights about dynamics whole system while demonstrating influences all interconnected influential factors. Originality/value explores leading sector.
